Illinois offers an OAPP ( Opioid Alternative Pilot Program) in which you obtain a temporary medical cannabis card to wean you off of opioids. The card is valid for 90 days. After the 90 days there is a $10 renewal fee from the state of Illinois. After the 90 days you and your doctor can determine whether to keep you on the OAPP or move to the MCPP (Medical Cannabis Patient Program) which you can obtain a card that will last up to three years.
